Men's Track and Field takes top spots at Cheyney Mid-Week meet

CHEYNEY, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's track and field team took part in the non-scoring Cheyney Invitational on Wednesday afternoon.

Lance Jones had a very strong meet, as he won the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.46, the javelin throw at 149-00 and was fifth in the 100 meter dash at 11.74.

In the field events, Andrew Carr won the shot put with a throw of 47-00.75, with Brian Clancy taking third at 38-11.50. Robert Shuttle was fourth at 38-09, followed by Brett Smyers in fifth at 37-02.25, and Jones in sixth at 37-01. Brian Mehmet was eighth at 33-09.25.

In the javelin throw, Mehmet was second at 134-04, followed by John Yokomizo in third at 108-07 and Carr in fourth at 99-04.

On the track, Chris Rountree finished sixth in the 200 meter dash at 24.35 and seventh in the 100 meter dash at 11.86. Jordan Grannum was second in the 400 meter dash at 51.23, while Tyler Gofus was fifth in the 800 run at 2:08.36 with John Ryder taking sixth at 2:13.98.
