Men's track fourth at Centennial Conference Championships

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Ursinus College track and field team finished up their run at the 2010 Centennial Conference Championships.

The men finished fourth with 112 points.

For the men, freshman Chris Rountree (Lawnside, N.J./Haddon Heights) was a two-time medalist as he won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.06 and the 110 high hurdles with a time a 15.00. He also had a fourth place finish in the 400 hurdles at 57.53 seconds.

Senior Travis Youngs (Mount Vernon, N.J./Mercerburg) was first in the triple jump again, with a winning leap of 45-08.50 feet. Rountree was fourth at 44-06.75, followed by senior Nick Bendas (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) in eighth place at 41-10.50 feet.  Youngs also had a fourth place finish in the high jump at 6-00.75 feet.

In the javelin throw, senior Kyle Fox (Waynesboro, Pa./Mercersburg) was second with a mark of 179-02 feet, with junior Tony Santino (Delanco, N.J./Holy Cross) finishing third with a throw of 175-10 feet. Sophomore Chris Salaga (Florence, N.J./Florence) finished fifth with a mark of 172-11 feet, followed by junior C.J. Yespelkis (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) in eighth place with a throw 165-03 feet.

In the shot put, sophomore Andrew Carr (Spring City, Pa./Phoenixville) was fourth with a mark of 44-06.50

In the 200 dash, freshman Jordan Grannum (New Rochelle, N.Y./Brunswick School (Conn.)) was sixth with a time of 22.76.

In the 100 dash, Grannum was fifth with a time of 11.39, while Bendas was sixth with a time of 11.41.

In the 4x1 relay, senior Sean Hall (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East), Grannum, Bendas and Rountree finished third with a time of 43.17, with juniors Justin and Jeremy Garavel (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow), Grannum and sophomore Ben Mosher (Hershey, Pa./Lower Dauphin) were sixth with a time of 3:29.95.
