Men's Track stands fifth after second day of CCs

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Ursinus continued to have standout performances at the second day of the 2010 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Swarthmore College.

The men are fifth after two days of competition.

Freshman Chris Rountree (Lawnside, N.J./Haddon Heights) is in the finals of the 110 high hurdles as he finished with the top time in the preliminaries with a 15.07 and is first in the 100 meter dash at 11.18. He is also seeded fourth in the 400 hurdles at 58.27.

In the long jump, senior Nick Bendas (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) finished fifth with a mark of 20-09 feet, while senior Sean Hall was sixth at 20-08.

Freshman Jordan Grannum (New Rochelle, N.Y./Brunswick School (Conn.)) finished sixth in the 200 preliminaries at 22.87.

In the pole vault, junior Inki Hong (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) finished fifth with a mark of 12-11.50 feet.

The decathlon finished up on Saturday, as sophomore Anthony Gochal (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xavier) finished third with a total score of 5095, while sophomore Nick Giarratano (Wapwallopen, Pa./Crestwood) finished sixth with a score of 4896.

Finally, the 4x8 relay team of juniors Justin Garavel (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) and Jeremy Garavel (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow), sophomore Adam DiCaprio (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie) and sophomore Ben Mosher (Hershey, Pa./Lower Dauphin) finished seventh with a time of 8:09.90.
