Men's Track soars at West Chester Invitational

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Ursinus College track and field teams had a strong showing at the non-scoring West Chester Invitational this weekend.

The Bears had two top finishers as senior Dante Dimidio won the 10k with a time of 35:00.65, while sophomore Al Desiderio won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.07. He also finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.54.

In the triple jump, the Bears went 3-4-5 as freshman Chris Rountree was third with a leap of 43-00.25, followed by senior Travis Youngs in fourth at 42-05.25. Senior Nick Bendas was fifth with a mark of 42.04.75.

In the shot put, the Bears also had three place winners as sophomore Andrew Carr was second with a throw of 44-03.50, followed by senior Eikeem Barron with a toss of 38-09.50. Sophomore Robert Shuttle was eighth with a throw of 36-04 feet.

Junior Inki Hong was third in the pole vault event clearing a height of 12-07.50.

In the javelin event, senior Kyle Fox was second with a throw of 170-06, followed sophomore Chris Salaga in third place with a mark of 163-08. Freshman Mark Gapinski was eighth with a mark of 142-05.

Rountree was also sixth in the long jump with a mark of 20-07, with freshman Sam Stortz finishing seventh in 1500 meter run with a time of 4:19.91. Freshman Jordan Grannum was eighth in the 200 meter dash at 23.24.

Finally, sophomore Anthony Gochal was 3rd in the decathlon with a total score of 4554, while junior John Yokomizo was fifth at 3387.
