Men's Track runs at Muhlenberg Invitational

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus College track and field teams had a very strong showing on Saturday afternoon at the non-scoring Muhlenberg College Invitational.

Freshman Chris Rountree (Lawnside, N.J./Haddon Heights) and sophomore Al Desiderio (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) each had two individual first-place finishes as Rountree won both the high hurdles (15.48) and the 400-meter hurdles (56.95). Desiderio won the 100 with a time of 11.12, while also taking the 200 dash at 22.40. He also finished second in the 200 dash with a mark of 22.40.

Desiderio was also part of the winning 4x100 relay team as he teamed up with senior Sean Hall (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East), senior Nick Bendas (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East), freshman Jordan Grannum (New Rochelle, N.Y./Brunswick School (Conn.)) to take the top spot at 43.61.

Grannum was second in the 100 dash at 11.54, while he also finished fourth in the 200 dash at 23.57.

Hall also took fourth in the 100 dash at 11.79, and was fifth in the long jump at 5.83 meters.

Bendas had a second place finish in the long jump at 6.38 meters, while junior Inki Hong (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) was third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.51 meters.

In the distance events, freshman Sam Stortz (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) was third in the 5k with a time of 16:34.12; while senior Dante Dimidio (Yardley, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) was fifth at 17:03.15.

In the throws, senior Kyle Fox (Waynesboro, Pa./Mercerburg) was third in the javelin at 49.15 meters, while sophomore Andrew Carr (Spring City, Pa./Phoenixville) was third in the shot put (13.61 meters) and fifth in the discus (35.00 meters).
