Track Runs at Franklin & Marshall

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Ursinus College track and field teams were at the Coach I Open on Saturday hosted by Franklin & Marshall College.

Men

Junior Justin Garavel (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) won the 1 mile run with a time of 4:44.89, while sophomore Andrew Carr (Spring City, Pa./Phoenixville) won the shot put event. Senior Nick Bendas (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) won the long jump with a leap of 19-9, while sophomore Al Desiderio (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) was second with a jump of 19-3.50

Senior Travis Youngs (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Mercersburg) captured the triple jump, with Bendas finishing in second place.

Junior Inki Hong (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) finished second in the pole vault at 11-6, while Desiderio finished second in the 55 meter dash at 6.82. Freshman Jordan Grannum (New Rochelle, N.Y./Brunswick School) finished third in the event at 6.95.

Grannum also had a second place finish in the 200 dash with a time of 24.06, while Desiderio was third in the 400 meter dash at 53.26.
