Arsenault Named SJTCA Player of the Year

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Adding another honor to one of the most decorated careers in Ursinus men's tennis history, Tyler Arsenault was named the South Jersey Tennis Coaches Association (SJTCA) College Player of the Year. The 2016 graduate shared the award – given annually to a player from a South Jersey high school who goes on to excel at the collegiate level – with TCNJ's Pierce Cooper.

Arsenault starred at Shawnee High School in Medford, New Jersey, where he played singles all four years, collecting 99 victories and helping to lead the team to a Group 4 South Jersey championship as a senior.

Arsenault leaves Ursinus as the program's all-time leader in doubles wins (50) and career wins (112), a mark he shares with Evan Stutchin '14. His 62 singles victories trail only Stutchin's 67 on the Bears' all-time charts.

A second team All-Centennial Conference doubles selection last season, Arsenault earned second team singles accolades after going 14-7 at the number two spot in the lineup in his final collegiate season. He was 7-2 in CC contests and joined fellow co-captain Dalton Lynch for a 13-8 mark at second doubles. Arsenault was also selected to the All-CC Sportsmanship Team.
