The Ursinus Men's tennis team went on the road today and
defeated Division II West Chester, 6-3.
The Bears (6-3) jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles.
Evan
Stutchin and Matt Hope got
Ursinus going with a dominating 8-1 win in the first flight.
After a close loss at second doubles, junior Dylan Marsh
and freshman Tyler
Arsenault teamed up at 3rd doubles for an 8-6 win, giving the
Bears a lead they would never relinquish.
In singles, Stutchin (first singles) and Arsenault (fourth
singles) finished straight set wins within minutes of each other to
push the lead to 4-1. Matt Hope followed up with an
impressive 6-3, 6-2 win at third singles to give the Bears an
insurmountable 5-1 lead.
Dylan Marsh closed out the day with a 6-4, 6-3 win at fifth
singles to give the Bears their 6-3 margin of victory.
Ursinus will be back on the courts at 1 pm on Saturday when
they host Dickinson in their Centennial Conference opener.
