The Ursinus College Men's Tennis team opened the spring portion of their schedule on a positive note, defeating the Cardinals of St. Mary's (MN) 6-3 on Monday.
The Bears (3-0) took an early 2-1 lead in doubles.  Matt Hope and Evan Stutchin were dominant in an 8-1 win at first doubles, defeating a St. Mary's duo that had won 24 of their last 26 matches.  After St. Mary's won at third doubles to knot the match at 1-1, Evan Lord and Dylan Marsh won a marathon match at second doubles by a 9-8 (7-4) score.  

In singles, freshman Tyler Arsenault got the Bears rolling with a 6-2, 6-1 with in the fourth slot. Soon after, Stutchin, Marsh and Hope all won their matches in straight sets to lock up the win.

The Bears are right back on the courts Tuesday when they play a doubleheader vs. King's College at noon, followed by a nightcap vs. Cornerstone University.
