HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Haverford on Monday afternoon on the Main Line. The Bears (12-9, 1-7 Centennial) won at second flight doubles and first flight singles against the regionally-ranked Fords (10-5, 6-2 Centennial).
At number two singles, Evan Lord and Brent Stevenson defeated Matthew Cebul and Matt Romei 8-5, while Evan Stutchin defeated Natty Sergay, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).
In Stutchin's match, he was trailing 5-4 in the second set before rallying to even it at 6-all. In the tie break, he went up 4-0, then increased his lead to 6-1.
With the score 6-3, he won it off a second serve that was returned long by Sergay.
Ursinus closes the season Saturday at Muhlenberg.
