COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's tennis began its final week of competition on Wednesday afternoon with a 8-1 loss to Haverford College, to fall to 11-8 on the year and 1-7 in Centennial play with one match to go.
Despite the loss, freshman Evan Lord (Collegeville, Pa.) defeated Ankur Arya at number five flight singles by a 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 score.
The match of the day was first flight singles at Kevin Caulfield, ranked 14th in the region in singles, was taken to the limit by freshman Evan Stutchin (Cape Coral, Fla.). Caulfield won the three-hour plus matcb by a score of 6-7 (9-11), 7-6 (10-8) and 12-10.
Ursinus closes play on Saturday against Muhlenberg.
