Smith's 11 - Men's Tennis defeats McDaniel, 8-1, to post 11th win of season

WESTMINSTER, MD. - For the first time since head coach Pete Smith was a senior at Ursinus back in 1990, the Ursinus College men's tennis team has reached the 11 win mark with a 8-1 win over McDaniel on Saturday afternoon.

For the Bears, the team of freshman Evan Stutchin (Cape Coral, Fla.) and sophomore Chris Wyshock (Montoursville, Pa.) defeated Ben Faber and Chad Palman at number one doubles, 8-3, with the team of freshman Matt Hope (Wyomissing, Pa.) and freshman Brent Stevenson (Coopersburg, Pa.) defeating Steve French and Justin Ward at number two flight, 8-3. At number three flight, the team of freshman Dylan Marsh (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) and freshman David Rowe (South Hamilton, Mass.) defeated Brian Kron and Matthew Langsdale, 8-3.

In singles play, Stutchin defeated Faber at first flight, 6-2, 6-3, with Stevenson defeating French at number three flight, 6-2, 6-3.

At number four flight, Wyshock defeated Kron, 2-6, 7-5, 11-9. Number five flight saw Marsh defeat Chad Palman, 9-7, while Rowe finished off Langsdale at number six flight, 8-4.

Ursinus is now 11-7, 1-6 in the Centennial.
