Men's Swimming Finishes Fourth at Centennial Conference Championships.

LANCASTER, PA. - The Ursinus College Men's Swimming team wrapped up Centennial Conference Championship weekend with a fourth-place finish scoring 366 total team points.  

The Bears earned a total of five medals and 10 total top-five finishes over the four-day conference tournament.  

Senior Ryan Carkhuff led the way for the Bears earning a silver medal in the 50 freestyle (20.29) and a third-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 45.38. Carkhuff now currently owns the top times in school history in both events after improving in each race.  

Freshman Jonah Kasznay also had an impressive weekend for the Bears earning a second-place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:03.00  

Stephen Lyons racked up two top-five finishes in both the 50 and 100 free events. Lyons earned personal bests in both times touching the wall at 46.16 in the 100 and 20.90 in the 50 free.  

The quartet of Ryan CarkhuffDylan SchrefflerJonah Kasznay, and Stephen Lyons broke the school record in the relay, touching the wall at 1:22.83. 

In the B-final of the 200 Freestyle Relay, the Bears earned another third-place finish as they finished with a time of 1:28.28. The quartet of Ryan SchrefflerJake KlucinecKevin Sonn, and Jan Perez-Bonilla improved by two seconds on their previous best times.   

The Bears earned a fifth-place finish in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3:26.90. The quartet of KasznayMatt SnyderJan Perez-Bonilla and Carkhuff combined for a time 6 seconds faster than their seed time. Two Bears swimmers earned their career personal best in the leadoff spot of the 400-medley relay. Kasznay tallied a time of 52.46 in the 100 back, while junior Ryan Schreffler tallied a time of 52.64. 

In the 400 Free Relay, the quartet of Carkhuff, Kasznay, Lyons, and Dylan Schreffler broke the school record with a time of 3:04.45.  

The Bears will look forward to NCAA Championships which will be held March 16-19 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Third Place 

200 Yard Freestyle Relay: Ryan Carkhuff, Dylan Schreffler, Jonah Kasznay, Stephen Lyons – 1:22.83 

100 Yard Freestyle: Ryan Carkhuff – 45.38 

400 Yard Freestyle Relay: Dylan Schreffler, Stephen Lyons, Jonah Kasznay, Ryan Carkhuff – 3:04.45 

Fourth Place 

800 Yard Freestyle Relay: Jonah Kasznay, Jan Perez-Bonilla, Jake Hennegan, Max Valeriano – 7:01.24 

400 Yard Medley Relay: Jonah Kasznay, Matt Snyder, Jan Perez-Bonilla, Ryan Carkhuff – 3:26.90 

100 Yard Freestyle: Stephen Lyons – 46.16 

100 Yard Breaststroke Time Trial: Kevin Sonn – 1:01.63 

Fifth Place 

200 Yard Medley Relay: Ryan Schreffler, Matt Snyder, Stephen Lyons, Ryan Carkhuff – 1:33.75 

50 Yard Freestyle: Stephen Lyons – 20.90
