Multiple School Records Go Down on Day Three of Conferences

LANCASTER, PA. - The Ursinus College Men's Swimming team had numerous impressive performances on day three of the Centennial Conference Championship on Saturday. The Bears currently sit in fourth place with 248 total points.  

The Bears opened with a third-place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay. The quartet of Ryan Carkhuff, Dylan Schreffler, Jonah Kasznay, and Stephen Lyons broke the school record in the relay, touching the wall at 1:22.83. Carkhuff led off the relay breaking the school record in the first 50 with a time of 20.27.  

In the B-final of the 200 Freestyle Relay, the Bears earned another third-place finish as they finished with a time of 1:28.28. The quartet of Ryan Schreffler, Jake Klucinec, Kevin Sonn, and Jan Perez-Bonilla improved by two seconds on their previous best times.  

In the men's 400-yard IM, freshman Jonah Kasznay earned his first all-conference award with a second-place finish. Kasznay recorded a time of 4:03.00 and now holds the school record in the 400 IM.  

Senior Ryan Carkhuff earned a second-place finish in the B-Final of the 200-yard freestyle posting a time of 1:42.08. Classmate Matt Snyder earned a personal best in the 100-breast touching the wall at 59.34 and collected a second-place finish in the B-Final. Right behind Snyder, teammate Jake Hennegan earned a third-place finish and a personal best of 59.38 in the 100 breaststroke.  

Junior Ryan Schreffler closed out the day for the Bears with a second-place finish in the B-final of the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.34.  

After day three, the Bears currently sit in fourth place with 248 team points. The Bears will dive back into the pool tomorrow morning and will look to bring home more gold medals. Tomorrow's events are listed in order below.
