Swimming Defeats York on Homecoming

Collegeville, Pa – The Ursinus College Men's swimming team celebrated Homecoming on Saturday, and hosted York College while collecting an impressive 117-84 victory.

Head swim coach Mark Feinberg recorded his 200th career victory in the meet as both the men's and women defeated York College.

Ryan Carkhuff was a double winner for the Bears, picking up wins in both the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events. Freshman Jonah Kasznay was apart of the winning 400 medley relay, but also picked up a first-place finish in the 400-individual medley. Matt Snyder, Jan Perez-Bonilla, and Stephen Lyons joined Kasznay as they opened the meet with a mark of 3:39:52 to get Ursinus off to a fast start.

Lyons collected an event victory as he was the first to finish the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22:03. Kasznay (55.41) and Ryan Schreffler (56.81) finished second and third in the Men's 100-yard backstroke. Senior Matt Snyder continued the Bears' run of form with a first-place performance in the Men's 100-yard breaststroke.

The men finished the day defeating York in the 200-yard freestyle relay event, posting a time of 1:27:94.

The Bears will travel next Saturday to Widener for a non-conference meet starting at 1:00 PM.
