Menzer Repeats as CC Swimmer of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – For the second time in as many weeks, Ursinus College sophomore Jacob Menzer has been selected as the Centennial Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week.

Menzer, who shared the honor with his younger brother Alec of Swarthmore, received the conference's weekly award for the third time this season and the fourth in his career.

Menzer was unstoppable during Saturday's dual with Washington College, piling up three individual wins and registering a new pool record in the process as the Bears cruised to a 115-85 rout of a squad they had not defeated in five years. A triple winner for the second straight meet, Menzer established a new Elliott Pool standard in the 400 IM, where his time of 4:13.74 was more than 10 seconds better than the previous benchmark.

The Bears' sophomore star also won the 500 free (4:45.23) and the 1000 free (9:56.89) in another display of dominance.

Menzer currently tops the CC in the 1000 free and the 1650 free. He ranks second in the 200 free and third in both the 500 free and 400 IM.
