MSwim shines on Day Two of CC Championships

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Heading into the final day of the 2015 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships, the Ursinus College men's swimming team is in fourth place with a total team score of 281. The Bears are now 50 points behind third-place F&M.

Starting off on Saturday night, the team of sophomore William Benn, sophomore Spencer Collopy, junior Chris Hoops and sophomore Dylan Cooper were sixth in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:37.74. In the B final, the team of junior James Marrone, junior Keith Larkin, junior Nick DiPalo and freshman Colin McNamara were 14th overall with a time of 1:39.45.

In the 400 IM, senior Jacob Robinson was fourth with a time of 4:09.02. In the B final, Larkin (4:18.83) and junior Henry Nonack (4:19.68) both set personal records.

Junior Chris Hoops was seventh in the A final of the 100 fly at 52.31, while McNamara was 16th overall with a time of 53.89.

In the 200 fly, senior Ben Jumper was fourth overall with a time of 1:43.36, with senior Josef Gershun 11th overall (and third in the B final) with a time of 1:46.29. Cooper was eighth overall in the B final with a time of 1:48.61.

Collopy set a personal record in the 100 breast, finishing fourth in the B final with a time of 1:00.75.

Benn set a school record as he medaled in the 100 back with a  time of 51.64, with Jumper finishing seventh with a time of 53.87.

In the B final, Marrone was third overall with a time of 54.12.

In the final scoring event of the evening, the Bears only scored in the B final as the A final team was DQ'ed due to a false start. In that B final, the team of freshman Chris Barthold, Benn, Hoops and Cooper finished second overall with a time of 7:09.81. Barthold's split of 1:47.26 set a personal record.
