Men's Swimming Falls to Gettysburg, 156-105

GETTYSBURG, Pa – Sophomore Marcus Wagner contributed 24 points capturing two first place finishes, but it wasn't enough to overcome Centennial favorite Gettysburg, falling 156-105 Saturday afternoon in Gettysburg.

Ursinus drops their first match of the season falling to 4-1.

Opening the meet in the 200 medley relay, the Bears placed in second behind William Benn, Keith Larkin, Chris Hoops and Benjamin Jumper.

Wagner and Chris Barthold  took the top two places in the 1000 yard freestyle, with a time of 10:18.12 and 10:22.48 respectively.

Next in the 200 yard freestyle Wagner placed in second with a time of 1:47.98.  

Ursinus swept the top three spots in the 100 yard backstroke with Benn placing first at 54.52, Jumper in second at 56.50 and James Marrone 57.36.

In the 100 yard breast stroke, Larkin captured three points placing in third at 1:04.72.

For the 200 yard butterfly, Hoops took first place by less than a second with a time of 2:02.16.

William Benn took second place in the 200 yard backstroke at 1:57.19.

In the 200 yard breast stroke, Larkin finished in second at 2:21.40 and Jacob Robinson finshed behind him at 2:24.33.

Joe Gershun took second place in the 500 yard freesytle at 4:58.98.

In the 100 yard butterfly, Hoops placed in second at 54.27.

Finally in the 400 yard freestyle relay, Ursinus placed third.
