Men's Swimming third after day one of CC Championships

LANCASTER, Pa. – After day one of the 2014 Centennial Conference Championships, the Ursinus College men's swimming team finds themselves in third place with a score 156 points.

The event, which was delayed during the morning session to due to lightning, will continue Saturday and Sunday at F&M.

In the first final of the night, the team of junior Jacob Robinson, freshman Chase Renninger, senior Alexander Pandelidis and senior John Wieczorek finished fifth with a time of 1:26.61. In the B final, the team of sophomore Chris Hoops, freshman Dylan Cooper, freshman Spencer Collopy and sophomore Nick DiPalo were 11th at 1:28.69.

In the 500 free, freshman Marcus Wagner took home silver in the event with a time of 4:39.11, while junior Josef Gershun was eighth at 4:51.32. In the B final, Pandelidis was 11th at 4:48.63, while Cooper was 15th at 4:51.76.

In the 200 IM, Robinson was seventh at 1:57.04 in the A final.

The 50 free saw Renninger finish seventh at 21.92, with Collopy 16th at 22.60.

Finally, in the 400 medley relay, freshman William Benn, senior Charles Messa, Hoops and Wieczorek were fourth at 3:29.20, while the team of Renninger, Robinson, sophomore Alec Heckman and Gershun were 12th at 3:36.32.
