COLLEGEVILLE, Pa - John Wieczorek took first place in both the 50 freestyle and the 400 medley relay scoring 20 points to lead Ursinus (5-3) to victory over York (8-4-1) 109-90 in Elliot Pool.

Ursinus took the lead by winning first in the 400 medley relay led by William Benn, Charles Messa, Chris Hoops, and Wieczorek with a winning time of 3:40.21.  Ursinus also took third in the relay with a time of 3:42.99 led by James Marrone, Keith Larkin, Alec Heckman and Spencer Collopy.

Freshman Marcus Wagner finished first in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:08.97. Finishing in second was Henry Nonack at 10:34.99.

Joe Gershun won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.48 and two seconds later Dylan Cooper finished second with a time of 1:51.51.

Chase Renninger finished in third place behind Wieczorek in the 50 freestyle at 22.98.

In the 400 IM with a time of 4:39.32 Larkin took first place and Mark Hickey finished third at 4:47.72.

Heckman continued his strong performance with a first place finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:06.50 and Alexander Pandelidis finished third with a time of 2:10.38.

In a tight race Benn and Cooper placed second and third in the 100 freestyle with Benn posting a time of 50.48 and Cooper finishing with 50.54.

Nonack was the only Ursinus swimmer to place in the 200 backstroke finishing second with a time of 2:04.90.

With the final event in the 500 freestyle Wagner took first place and finished in 4:57.42 and right behind him Gershun finished in second with a time of 5:02.13.

In a week, the Bears will travel to F&M.
