COLLEGEVILLE, Pa –  James Marrone contributed 23 points getting first place in the 200 medley relay, 100 backstroke and third place in the 50 free as Ursinus (4-3) defeated Cabrini (1 – 10) 125-56 in Elliott Pool.

Ursinus jumped to an early lead and never looked back taking first and second place in the 200 medley relay.  The first place team led by James Marrone, Charles Messa, Keith Larkin and Chase Renninger finished with a time of 1:42.79. In a close second, Jacob Robinson, Mark Hickey, Alec Heckman, and Nick Dipalo finished only half a second behind first with a time of 1:43.37.

In the 1650 freestyle Joe Gershun took first place (17:38) and Dylan Cooper finished in second (17:58). 

Marcus Wagner finished first in the 200 freestyle at 1:49.53 and William Benn took second at 1:52.27.

John Wieczorek took first place with a time of 22 seconds flat in the 50 freestyle and Marrone took third place at 24:42.

Alexander Pandelidis finished first at 2:08.63 and Henry Nonack finished second at 2:09.02 in the 200 IM to help take a commanding lead after the first break leading Cabrini 72-16.

In the 100 Butterfly, Dipalo finished second with a time of 58.03 and Thomas Steiner took third at 1:00.24

Heckman also finished first in the 100 freestyle posting a time of 51.01 and Larkin finished in third at 53.97

Marrone and Nonack took first and second place to push Ursinus' lead further in a close battle with Marrone (57.00) slightly edging Nonack (57.85) in the 100 backstroke.

Finally in the 500 freestyle Ursinus swept Cabrini with Pandelidis in first (5:02.53) Chris Hoops in second (5:03.35) and Benn in third (5:05.37).

Ursinus will look to continue its strong performance against non-conference York (6-3-1) tomorrow at 1 p.m.
