Men's Swimming drops meet to Albright

READING, Pa. – In a matchup with two nationally-ranked teams, Albright upended Ursinus by a score of 124-81 in men's swimming Wednesday.

For Ursinus (2-1), freshman Marcus Wagner took home the only first place finish on the night as he won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:54.69.

Second-place finishers were Wagner in the 1000 free at 10:06.11, sophomore Chris Hoops in the 100 butterfly at 54.64, freshman Chase Renninger in the 100 back at 53.29 and senior Charles Messa in the 100 breast at 1:04.59.

Senior Alexander Pandelidis (200 free, 1:50.46); senior John Wieczorek (50 free, 22.23); junior Jacob Robinson (200 IM, 2:05.42 and 100 breast, 1:06.06); junior Ben Jumper (100 free, 50.62); freshman William Benn (100 back, 54.87), sophomore Keith Larkin (100 breast, 1:06.06) and junior Josef Gershun (500 free, 5:01.80) all took third in their respective events.

The team of Renninger, freshman Spencer Collopy, Pandelidis and Wieczorek were first in the 200 free relay at 1:30.30, while the team of Benn, Messa, Hoops and Renninger were second in the 200 medley relay at 1:42.57.

Ursinus hosts Gettysburg Saturday.
