Men's Swimming wins a thriller over Dickinson, 105-100

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – In the first meet of the year, the Ursinus College men's swimming team made it a thriller as the Bears (1-0, 1-0 Centennial) won the final 400 free relay giving Ursinus a 105-100 win over Dickinson (0-1, 0-1 Centennial) Saturday afternoon.

The team of freshman Marcus Wagner, junior Josef Gershun, senior Alexander Pandelidis and senior John Wieczorek won the event with a time of 3:18.13, just .15 seconds ahead of the Dickinson B team.

Individually, Wagner won the 1000 free with a time of 10:17.79 and the 500 free at 4:57.81

Sophomore Chris Hoops won the 200 fly at 2:01.80 with freshman Chase Renninger winning the 200 back at 1:58.32.

Second-place finishes were earned by Gershun at 10:29.86 in the 1000 free, Pandelidis in the 200 free at 1:49.15, Wieczorek in the 50 free at 22.10 and the 100 free at 49.89, junior Jacob Robinson in the 200 IM at 2:05.52 and freshman William Benn in the 200 back at 1:58.54.

Sophomore Keith Larkin was third in the 200 IM at 2:10.17, while Gershun was third in the 500 free at 5:03.59.
