COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – It was Senior Day as the Ursinus College men's swimming team hosted the Washington College Shoremen on Saturday in a Centennial Conference matchup. The Bears came out with the win 119-81.  The Bears honored seniors Chris Doyle, Chris Smith and Kevin Tallon before the match.

The Bears finished in first place for the 200 medley relay with the team of freshman Jacob Robinson (Columbia, Pa./Lancaster Catholic HS), junior Philip Quick (Bridgeton, N.J./Cumberland Regional HS), sophomore John Wieczorek (Milltown, N.J./St. Joseph High School) and junior David Yazbeck (Dorchester Center, Mass./Boston Latin School) with a time of 1:41.49.

Junior Scott Paine (York, Pa./Dallastown HS) set the Elliot Pool record in the 1000 freestyle with an amazing time of 9:59.29.  Sophomore Alexander Pandelidis (York, Pa./Dallastown Area) took second at 10:38.41.

Smith took first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:48.23.  Freshman Josef Gershun (Southbury, CT/Fork Union Military Academy) finished in a close second at 1:49.83.

Yazbeck placed second in the 50 freestyle at 22.64.

Robinson won the 400 IM with a time of 4:31.74.  Freshman Phil Saxon (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) took second at 4:39.79.

Smith took second in a tape measure finish during the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.10.

Wieczorek won the 100 freestyle at 49.57 with Paine taking second at 50.19.

Gershun took first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:02.53.  Freshman Benjamin Jumper (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs HS) took second at 5:08.71.

The Bears swam exhibition for the final two events.  The team travels to Arcadia on Friday.
