COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's swimming team hosted the York College Spartans on Saturday in a non-conference matchup. The Bears came out with the win 155-107.

The Bears finished in first place for the 400 medley relay with the team of junior Scott Paine (York, Pa./Dallastown HS), junior Philip Quick (Bridgeton, N.J./Cumberland Regional HS, senior Chris Smith (Wayne, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) and sophomore John Wieczorek (Milltown, N.J./St. Joseph High School) at 3:42.91.

Freshman Josef Gershun (Southbury, CT/Fork Union Military Academy) took top honors in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:32.82. 

Sophomore Alexander Pandelidis (York, Pa./Dallastown Area)placed second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:53.03.

Paine placed first in the 100 backstroke at 56.51.  Junior David Yazbeck (Dorchester Center, Mass./Boston Latin School) took second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.22.

Smith took first place in the 200 butterfly at 2:02.33.  He also placed first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:01.35.  Smith also took first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.34. 

Wieczorek added to the Bears lead with his first place finish in the 50 freestyle at 22.55.  Freshman Benjamin Jumper (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs HS)took second in the 100 freestyle at 50.88.

Junior David Wagner (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall HS) took first place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:12.71.
Freshman Jacob Robinson (Columbia, Pa./Lancaster Catholic HS) took first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.89.
The Bears took first in the 400 freestyle relay with a team of Paine, Smith, Wieczorek and Gershun with a time of 3:21.59.
The Bears travel to Franklin and Marshall on Saturday.
