Men's Swimming falls to Gettysburg

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's swimming team hosted Gettysburg College on Saturday in a Centennial Conference matchup. The Bears lost 185-77.

The Bears finished in second place for the 200 yard medley relay with the team of freshman Jacob Robinson (Columbia, Pa./Lancaster Catholic), junior David Yazbeck (Dorchester Center, Mass./Boston Latin School), senior Chris Smith (Wayne, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) and sophomore John Wieczorek (Milltown, N.J./St. Joseph High School) at 1:41.58

Freshman Josef Gershun (Southbury, CT/Fork Union Military Academy) took top honors in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:29.56.  He also placed second in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:02.81.

Smith won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:02.57.  He placed second in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 55.42.

A team of Yazbeck, Smith, Wieczorek, and sophomore Alexander Pandelidis (York, Pa./Dallastown Area)  placed second in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

The Bears travel to Swarthmore on Tuesday.
