COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Ursinus College swim team came away with
a split in a Centennial Conference dual meet with Washington
College on Saturday afternoon.
The men (6-5, 2-4 Centennial) defeated the Shoremen (3-5, 0-4
Centennial) 129-75, while the Shorewomen (7-2, 3-2 Centennial)
defeated Ursinus (8-3, 3-3 Centennial) 131-74.
Men
Freshman Scott Paine (York, Pa./Dallastown Area),
junior Lloyd Tannenbaum (Dresher, Pa./Upper
Dublin) and sophomore Chris Smith (Wayne, Pa./St.
Joseph's Prep) each came away from the meet with two top
finishes.
Tannenbaum captured the 1000 free (10:19.47) and the 100 free with
a time of 50.71, Smith won the 100 butterfly at 54.86, while taking
the 500 free at 5:04.69.
Paine won the 200 free at 1:49.59 and the 100 back at 56.25.
Freshman David Yazbeck (Dorchester Center, Mass./Boston
Latin School) won the 50 free at 23.10, while freshman
Philip Quick (Bridgeton, N.J./Cumberland Regional)
won the 200 IM at 2:07.61.
The team of Yazbeck, Quick, Tannenbaum and Paine won the 200 medley
relay with a time of 1:43.22.
Quick also had a second-place finish in the 100 breast with a mark
of 1:05.30.
