Men's Soccer Picked Tenth in Preseason Poll

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Urisnus College men's soccer team was picked tenth in the Centennial Conference preseason poll, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Four teams earned first place votes. Leading the way was Johns Hopkins, who received four first place votes with 76 points while 2018 champion Haverford trailed the Blue Jays with 70 points but also received four first place votes. Also receiving first place votes were Franklin & Marshall and Dickinson. The 2017 champion Diplomats (67) came in third, trailing Haverford by three points while Dickinson (61) came in fourth.

Returning for the Bears will be leading goal-scorer Braden Burns. The rising junior midfielder scored three goals last season and his .188 shot percentage also led the team. Senior captain Colin Klingman, a three-year starter, is back to anchor the defense alongside sophomore Mike Buck, while junior Jacob Helwig joins Burns and sophomore Colin Holtzman in the midfield. Sophomore Aiden Cooper started 13 games at forward as a rookie, registering two goals and an assist, and junior captain Alexis Ayala has started 24 matches up front over his first two seasons.
