COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's soccer team dropped a Centennial Conference match against Franklin & Marshall, 5-0, on Saturday.

The offense was nowhere to be found for the Bears (2-9, 0-5), as they were only able to manage three shots in the game, with just one on target.

Freshman keeper Matthew Kenwood got the start for coach Keith Cappo's squad, and was impressive in only his third start of the season. He came up big with 10 minutes left in the first half, when he was the only thing in between a Franklin & Marshall forward and the goal. The Diplomats' attacker found his way inside the box, within 10 yards of the net, when he ripped a shot that Kenwood was able to get a hand on. The keeper dove to his left and deflected the ball outside of the right post.

He got a bit of help earlier in the first frame, when junior John Romero stopped what looked to be a promising chance for the Diplomats. An F&M player weaved through the defense and into the center of the box, when Romero caught back up with him and slid in to kick the ball out of harm's way.

It wasn't until there was 5:25 left on the clock for the first score of the day, when F&M defender Wyatt Fabian sent the ball to the back of the net off a diving header. The play developed off a deep pass from Zach Colton, which flew over the Bears' defense and in for Fabian.

Things spun out of control shortly into the second half, as the Diplomats were able to pot three goals in the span of less than three minutes. Jason Tonelli took an Ursinus turnover and flicked the ball past Kenwood before a headed goal from Max Geuder and a left-footed finish from Stephen Sherbahn.

Kenwood finished the game with five saves, recording four of them in the first 45 minutes.

The Bears' next match is on Wednesday, when they face Goucher.
