Men's Soccer Draws McDaniel on Senior Day

Men's Soccer Draws McDaniel on Senior Day

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's soccer team hosted McDaniel on Homecoming. After honoring six seniors prior to the match, the Bears played the Green Terror to a scoreless draw.

Ursinus battled through the elements and toughed out 110 minutes of play on Saturday. The Bears controlled possession for much of regulation, but could not finish in front of the net. All the Black and Gold could do was tip their cap, as both goalkeepers were phenomenal.

Despite arctic temperatures and a frigid gale that threw equipment around the field and pushed the nets back, Vince Maiorino was stellar in goal. The senior showed off his athleticism with diving stops and finished with six saves to keep his team in the match.

The keeper along with Noah Kimelheim, Aaron Nelson, Stephen Meixner, Joe DeMarco and Ryan Molyneaux were each honored prior to the match. The seniors were joined by family members on the field as the team celebrated their contributions to the program.

Ursinus is 4-9-1, 0-6-1 this season. The Bears return to action on Wednesday, October 26th as they take on nationally ranked Haverford in a 3:30 p.m. match.
