Johns Hopkins slips by Men's Soccer, 3-2

BALTIMORE, Md. – Homestanding Johns Hopkins scored three times in the first half as the Blue Jays (7-3-2, 3-1-1 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (1-7-3, 0-3-2 Centennial) 3-2 in men's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Homewood Field.

Ursinus got a goal in the 53rd minute from junior midfielder Justin Mendez (Philadelphia, Pa./The GEroge School), but, the Bears could not get one to tie.

Three different players scored for Hopkins, including Samy Ramadane who had a goal (the eventual game-winner in the 27th minute) and an assist.

Ursinus, trailing 1-0 in the first half, got a penalty kick goal at 14:04 from senior forward Ryan Butler (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra).

Junior goalkeeper Vince Maiorino (Mount Laurel, N.J./Bishop Eustace) had six saves in the loss.

Ursinus hosts Washington College next Saturday on Homecoming at 4:30 p.m.
