Susquehanna upends Men's Soccer in overtime, 2-1

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Playing in its second straight day, the Ursinus College men's soccer team went into overtime for the second straight day.

However, this time the Bears (0-2-1) came up on the losing end of a 2-1 decision to Susquehanna (2-1-0) on the road Sunday afternoon.

Ursinus led 1-0 after the first half when junior midfielder Justin Mendez (Philadelphia, Pa./The George School) scored on pass directly in front of the goal by senior midfielder Dean DerSimonian (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) at 31:05

Susquehanna tied the score at 1-all, 37 minutes later when Samuel Tana scored unassisted. The Crusaders then scored 1:11 into the extra period when Ryan Cronin scored on a pass from Garian Lashley.

Junior goalkeeper Vince Maiorino (Mount Laurel, N.J./Bishop Eustace) made four saves in the loss for Ursinus, who will be off until Saturday when the Bears travel to Cabrini. Today marked the first game of a four game road trip for the Bears.
