Men's Soccer opens season with King's

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Visiting King's (Pa.) netted a pair of goals in the second half as the Monarchs (1-0) spoiled Ursinus' home and season opener with a 2-0 win over the Bears (0-1) on Tuesday afternoon at steamy Patterson Field.

Daniel Lorandini and Chris Galeano scored for King's, who scored in the 49th and 76th minutes to take the win. Lorandini scored on a shot from 20-yards out on a pass from Brian Fenster at 48:28, while Galeano's goal came on a throw in from Tyler Harlan at 75:48.

Junior goalkeeper Vince Maiorino (Mount Laurel, N.J./Bishop Eustace) made five saves in the start, and kept King's off the board in the first half.

In a physical contest, that featured three cards, Ursinus actually held a 14-13 edge on shots. Junior midfielder Ryan Molyneaux (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) had six shots on the day.
