TOWSON, Md. – A goal and two assists from freshman Ryan Molyneaux (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) was all Ursinus needed as the Bears (6-5-1) defeated Goucher (6-5-1) 4-1 in men's soccer action on Tuesday night.
Molyneaux scored early in the game in the 14th minute, then assisted on goals by sophomore midfielder Dean Dersimonian (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) in the 17th minute and on a goal by freshman forward Wyatt Powell (Concord, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) in the 26th minute off of a corner kick.
After Goucher scored at 67:28 on a penalty kick by Kevin Tonkovich, sophomore Ryan Butler (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra) returned the favor by scoring on a penalty kick at 73:29.
Both teams were even at 13 shots, with junior goalkeeper Ryan Murphy (Sewell, N.J./Paul VI) stopping three shots.
Ursinus will host Washington on Saturday.
