Men's Soccer scores four straight in win over Widener, 4-2

CHESTER, Pa. – Ursinus scored four straight goals as the Bears (1-1) defeated Widener (2-1) 4-2 on Wednesday night in men's soccer play at Quick Stadium.

The Bears had four different players score on the night, outshooting the Pride 15-11.

After giving up a goal to Tori Remondelli 1:21 in off of a header, Ursinus got on the board when freshman midfielder Noah Kimelheim (Langhorne, Pa./The George School) scored on a shot inside the left post off of a great through ball from sophomore midfielder Charles Brodsky (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Friends Central) to knot the game at 1-all at the 6:22 mark.

Less than ten minutes before half, freshman forward Ryan Molyneaux (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) scored on a 30-yard shot just inside the right post for the 2-1 Ursinus lead. With 1:14 left before halftime, sophomore midfielder Hans Seri (Abidjan, Ivory Coast) scored his first goal of the season as came off a throw in by freshman midfielder Matt Cioeta (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) that found the back of the cage inside the left post.

The four goal outburst ended at 60:03 when sophomore midfielder Ryan Butler (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra) drilled another shot from 25 yards out that landed inside the left post again.

Remondelli scored on a free kick with 12:46 left for the final goal of the game for the Pride.

Junior goalkeeper Ryan Murphy (Sewell, N.J./Paul VI) made four saves in 85 minutes of play, while sophomore goalkeeper Daniel Cartwright (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) played the final five minutes for the Bears. Jakub Valdner had seven saves for the Pride.

Ursinus heads to the Jimmy Mills Tournament at Haverford this weekend, taking on Kean and Vassar.
