Men's Soccer downed by King's, 3-1

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – King's scored the last three goals of the match as the Monarchs (6-3-1) defeated Ursinus (4-7) 3-1 on Tuesday evening at a foggy Patterson Field.

Three different players scored for the Monarchs, as King's had a 17-11 lead on shots.

Ursinus took a 1-0 lead early on a goal by freshman forward Dean DerSimonian (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) as he converted a shot in the 40th minute past Monarch netminder Mark Labbadia.

King's tied the score on a penalty kick by Tyler Garvine at 41:56, then took the lead in the 72nd minute as Chris Nygren bounced a shot off of Ursinus freshman goalkeeper Kieran Keyser (Petersburg, N.J./Ocean City) and went into the corner of the net.

Daniel Hernandez pushed one in at the 83rd minute for the final 3-1 edge.

Keyser finished with two saves, while Labbadia had five.

Ursinus heads to Johns Hopkins on Saturday.
