COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Visiting Kean University exploded for four goals in the second half as the Cougars (9-5-2) handed Ursinus (3-9-3) a 4-1 loss Tuesday night in a non-conference men's soccer affair at Patterson Field.
Ursinus got its lone goal from senior midfielder Andrew Machalick (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) who scored in a penalty kick in the third minute of play.
Kean tied the score in the 62nd minute as freshman midfielder Alexander Fernandez scored off of a rebound off of the goal post, followed by a goal from freshman forward Erickson Simeon just three minutes later via a junior forward Sheldon Palmer assist.

With just 4:27 to play, freshman midfielder Jonathan German scored on an assist by junior midfielder Danny Olivo for the final margin.
Kean had a 30-9 shot advantage, with senior goalkeeper Mike Alfieri (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) making eight saves. Kean freshman goalkeeper Nick Pavlichko had five saves in the win.
Ursinus heads to Dickinson on Saturday for a critical matchup in the Centennial Conference with just three conference games remaining, Ursinus is still in the hunt for a spot in the conference tournament.
