Men's Soccer falls to Haverford, 3-1

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Haverford College junior midfielder Alejandro Rettig y Martinez scored two goals as the Fords (4-1-2, 2-0-1 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (1-7, 0-3) 3-1 in men's soccer play Wednesday afternoon.

Rettig y Martinez scored in the 24th and 76th minutes as the Fords remained unbeaten in conference play.

Ursinus, trailing 1-0 after the first half, tied the score with 16:49 left as junior forward Chris Polster (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards) scored on a header from a cross from junior midfielder Andrew Machalick (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood).

Rettig y Martinez scored the game-winner at 76:12 on a deflection, followed by a goal from junior defender David Restrepo with just over five minutes left.

For Ursinus, junior goalkeeper Mike Alfieri (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) had nine saves, with senior goalkeeper Jamey Applegate having three saves for the Fords.
