Men's Soccer downed in final minutes by Gettysburg, 2-1

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Gettysburg senior midfielder Teddy Smith scored with just 2:58 left in regulation as the Bullets (2-4, 1-0 Centennial) handed Ursinus (0-5, 0-1 Centennial) a 2-1 heartbreaking loss in men's soccer play on Saturday.

Smith goal came following a corner kick, as Gettysburg's Kyle DeBlois had his shot saved at the line by Ursinus senior forward George Belaires (Bath, Pa./Northampton).

Ursinus had tied the game at 27:16 as junior midfielder Andrew Machalick (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) scored unassisted on a free kick that got past sophomore goalkeeper Mike Walmer to tie the score at 1-all.

The Bullets had got on the board to take an early 1-0 lead 10:39 in as freshman midfielder Tyler Shaffer scored unassisted.

For Ursinus, junior goalkeeper Mike Alfieri (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) made six saves in the loss, as he faced 16 shots. Walmer had five saves for the Bullets.
