Inside Lacrosse Poll

COLLEGEVILLE. Pa. - The Ursinus College men's lacrosse team was ranked No. 19 in the Inside Lacrosse Division III preseason top-20, released by the website over the weekend.

The Bears went 4-2 overall in a shortened Centennial Conference-only season in the spring of 2021 and concluded the season being ranked 20th in the Inside Lacrosse poll.

Ursinus is one of three Centennial schools featured in the poll with defending conference champion Franklin & Marshall coming in at No. 8 and Gettysburg just ahead of the Bears at No. 18. The two conference foes are a part of a loaded 2022 schedule for Ursinus that features six preseason top-20 teams from the Inside Lacrosse poll. The Bears will take on defending national champion RIT (No. 1), Christopher Newport (No. 5), Saint John Fisher (No. 7), and Stevenson (No.14) in non-conference action this season.

The Bears return several key pieces for 2022 led by last season's leading scorer, junior Tyler Neal. He earned All-Centennial second team honors in 2021 after leading the team with 15 goals and adding 9 assists. Senior Tommy Reinhart also returns for the Bears in 2022 after earning first team honors in 2021 behind finishing third on the team with nine goals, including seven in the first three contests. Senior Ben Goetz will look to anchor the Bears defense again after recording 16 ground balls and causing three turnovers. Goetz also came alive on offense late in the 2021 season after scoring three goals in the last two contests. Sophomore Joshua Toth hopes to build off an impressive freshman season after earning second team Centennial honors. Toth was dynamic for the Bears in 2021 as he racked up 19 ground balls and a team-leading six caused turnovers. The long pole also spent some time in the faceoff x, winning 9-of-20 draws.

Ursinus will open their 2022 campaign on Saturday, February 19th as they will travel to take on No. 14 Stevenson at 7 p.m.
