Staying Alive

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's lacrosse team did its part on Wednesday night, beating Haverford by a 9-6 score at Swan Field.

With the win, Ursinus moves to 8-6 overall and remains alive in the Centennial Conference playoff race with one game left.

To qualify for the playoffs, the Bears will need to beat Muhlenberg, and have either Gettysburg or Dickinson lose on Saturday. The Bears can also qualify for the playoffs if they remain tied with Gettysburg and Dickinson at three losses each. 

As for Wednesday's game, Ursinus scored the first two goals of the game, then saw Haverford tie the score with two goals in the second. Ursinus then went on a 5-1 scoring run to pull away for good. 

Jake Weber and Dylan Spangenberg each had two goals, while five other players netted a goal in the win.

Senior Shawn Caven was 14-for-17 from the dot with seven ground balls. Sophomore goalkeeper Brian Neff had seven saves in the win.
