GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Nationally-ranked Gettysburg scored four straight goals to open the second half as the 16th-ranked Bullets (8-4, 4-1 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (6-6, 2-3 Centennial) 10-3 in men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.
Junior attack Mike Neal had a goal and two assists for Ursinus, with junior attack Mark Stratton and junior attack Steve Smyrl scoring goals in the loss.
Neal scored his first goal with 1:23 left in the first quarter to cut the Gettysburg lead to 2-1. Ursinus remained down one goal after Smyrl scored his 25th goal of the season with 10:15 left in the second quarter.
From there, Gettysburg scored five straight to go up 8-2. Ursinus got its last goal with 4:04 left in the game when Stratton scored on a man-up goal.
Individually, sophomore attack Logan Panaccione had four ground balls, with senior face off specialist going 4-for-11 on the dot. Panaccione had three caused turnovers.
Sophomore goalkeeper Brian Neff had eight saves for Ursinus, who hosts McDaniel next Saturday.
