Men's Lacrosse doubles up Moravian, 10-5

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men’s lacrosse team geared up for a tough conference slate with a 10-5 win over Moravian on Thursday night in non-conference play.

The Bears (8-1) broke open a one-goal game at halftime with six goals in the third quarter.

Senior midfielder Eric Farris (Pottsgrove, Pa./Pottsgrove) had a game-high four goals in the win, while sophomore attack David Kraus (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) had two goals and two assists.

Farris scored a goal with just 32 seconds left before halftime to give Ursinus a 4-3 lead going into the break. Coming out of halftime, he scored the first goal of the half just 15 seconds in to give the Bears a 5-3 lead.

After Moravian’s Robert Devine scored a goal with 12:59 left, the Bears scored the next four to put the game out of reach. All four goals came in a span of 6:22.

Defensively, senior defender Matt Conway (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Germantown Academy) had five caused turnovers, while freshman defender Buddy Ferro (Clifton Heights, Pa./Episcopal Academy) and sophomore midfielder Jeff Ocampo (Palm Coast, Fla./Mantanzas) each had four groundballs.

Freshman goalkeeper Josh Baker (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) played the second and third quarter, recording two saves to pick up his first collegiate win in net.
