Vostenak Paces Men's Golf at Huskie Invitational

DANVILLE, PA. - Senior Peyton Vostenak led the Ursinus College men's golf team with a 13th-place finish after shooting an 11-over 83 on Thursday afternoon.  

Ursinus landed on a team tally of 270 (+54), as Indiana University of PA won the Invitational finishing 5-over with a team score of 221. Penn State – Harrisburg (314) and Bloomsburg (324) finished ahead of the Bears to round out the top-three. The Bears second team finished with a 379 (+91) for a sixth-place finish.  

The Bears had nine members competing at the Golf Course at Frost Valley, a par-72 course that stretches 6,342 yards. 

Sophomore Billy Cardino was also impressive throughout his round finishing with a 14-over 86 for a 16th-place finish.  

The quartet of Cardino, Evan Coffey, Kyle Hoke, and Luke Godzieba all finished within the top-25 for a fourth-place finish at the Huskie Invitational. Coffey finished 21st overall after closing out his round with a 91 (+19), meanwhile teammate Kyle Hoke finished just behind signing for a 93 and finished in 23rd place. Godzieba turned in his card with a 96 (+24) for a 25th-place finish.  

Seniors John Murray and Vostenak each garnered top-20 finishes leading the Bears second team to a sixth-place finish. Murray finished tied for 19th and closed out his round with a 90. Teammates Nich Troha (102) and T.J. Stanton (104) closed out their rounds with top 30 performances.  

The Bears will return to action on Monday as they travel to Lancaster for the F&M Invitational at Bent Creek Country Club.
