Strong Effort for Men's Golf at LVC Spring Invitational

LEBANON VALLEY, PA. - The Ursinus College men's golf team used five top 20 finishes to secure a 4th and 6th place finish at the LVC Spring Invitational at the Lebanon Country Club. The Bears had two teams compete (Gold & Black) at the par 72 course that featured 11 teams and totaled 6,562 yards.  

Sophomore Billy Cardino led team black to a sixth-place finish after finishing in fifth place with a 79 (+7). Cardino started his day on hole 11 and used a birdie and five consecutive pars for a 39 on the back nine. He followed up his performance with another birdie on hole three and four pars over the last seven holes to finish his stellar round.  

For team gold, junior T.J. Stanton finished his round with a 13th place finish after shooting an 85(+13). Stanton started on hole eight but started to heat up on the back-nine, capturing birdies on hole ten and 14 for a 38 on the back stretch. He used two pars on the front-nine to capture a 47 and another top-15 finish for the Bears.  

Senior John Murray was dialed in finishing just behind Stanton with an 86 (+14), tied for 14th-place. He completed his day with nine pars while closing out the front nine with a 45. Teammate Evan Coffey turned his card with an 86 as well, highlighted by a birdie on hole two and a par on hole three.  

Luke Godzieba shot an 88, posting birdie on the second and par-4 fifth hole in the process. Kyle Hoke recorded three pars and signed for a 93, while Peyton Vostenak collected a 95 that included three pars.  

The Bears will return to action on March 30th as they travel to New Tripoli, Pa for the Moravian Invitational.
