Strong Effort for Men's Golf at Fall Invite

POTTSTOWN, Pa. - Another top-five finish for Jordan Pick headlined a strong performance by the Ursinus College men's golf team at its annual fall invitational on Tuesday.

Pick signed for a 2-over 73 at Raven's Claw, winding up just two strokes behind two Moravian golfers for the overall lead and tying for fifth in a field of 57. The Bears shot a season-best 315, good for a tie for fourth in a 10-team field and only two shots out of third.

Pick was red-hot on the front-nine, going 1-under 35 on the strength of birdies on the par-5 seventh and par-4 eighth holes. He dropped in birdie putts on the par-5 10th and par-4 11th as well, giving him four birdies in a stretch of five holes. After four consecutive bogeys, he closed out the back nine with three straight pars to finish with a 73.

John Murray was dialed in, shooting 36 on the first nine holes on the way to a 78. He had five straight pars and added a birdie on the seventh.

Playing as an individual, Nick Troha was terrific in his collegiate debut. The rookie carded an 80, which included birdies on the par-4 fifth and the par-4 13th holes. He shot 37 on the front nine.

Billy Cardino shot an 81, posting birdie on the seventh and par-4 16th in the process. Kyle Hoke birdied the eighth hole in addition to the 16th, ultimately signing for an 83.

T.J. Stanton recorded nine pars as well as a birdie on the eighth en route to an 85, while Evan Coffey collected an 88 that included birdie on the seventh.
