Quagliero Leads Men's Golf in Opener

MT. WOLF, Pa. – Kyle Quagliero found himself among the top 15 of an 80-man field after the Ursinus College men's golf team's first round at the season-opening Spartan Invitational on Saturday.

Quagliero finished with a 5-over 77 to lead the way for the Bears, who sat in 13th place at day's end with a 343. He made a pair of birdies on the front nine – the 590-yard, par-5 3rd as well as the par-5 9th – and tallied nine pars to end the afternoon in 15th overall.

Jordan Pick posted the second-best card of the day in his collegiate debut for Ursinus, notching an 84 at Royal Manchester Golf Links. He made five pars on the way to a 40 on the front nine. Ryan Hodgdon was right behind Pick with an 85, which included a birdie on the par-4 13th hole.

Jack Bagnell (97) and Daniel Schlitt (99) made up the rest of the Bears' lineup.
