Men's Golf Takes 5th at Revolutionary Classic

RISING SUN, Md. – Brian Barrett posted the best score of his career to lead the Ursinus College men's golf team to a fifth-place showing at its annual Revolutionary Collegiate Classic.

Barrett followed a first-round 80 with an even-par 72 in Sunday's second round, placing him in a tie for 9th place in a field of more than 100 golfers. The junior was on fire on the front nine holes, making birdie on the first and fifth holes in addition an eagle on the par-5 ninth. He shot 33 on the first nine of the second round en route to finishing just three shots behind Sunday's top score.

Millersville captured the team title by one stroke over Franklin & Marshall with a 593. Goucher was third at 613, while Stevens edged the Bears' Black squad by a single shot for fourth at 636. Ursinus' 312 on Sunday was its best score of the season.

Freshman Kyle Quagliero was impressive again for Ursinus, carding a two-day 154 (80-74) to tie for 11th. The rookie had birdies on three par-5s in the fifth, ninth, and 18th holes on Sunday.

Junior Ryan Hodgdon was 17th with a 158 (78-80). He had back-to-back birdies on the 16th and 17th holes on Saturday, then produced birdies on the fifth and ninth in the second round.

Freshman Rob Moore tied for 41st with a 173 (87-86). He made birdie on the second and 15th holes in the first round, both par-3s.

Senior Bennett Collins (89-89—178), freshman Kai Toomey (89-92—181) and freshmen Daniel Schlitt (90-94—184) finished in a tight pack for the Gold team. They were joined by freshman John Murray (104-100—204) and sophomores Liam Bradley (127-123—250) and Ryan Moliken (137-138—275).

The Bears are right back at it on Monday at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
