Hodgdon Shines on Day 2 of CC Championship

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Freshman Ryan Hodgdon shot a career-best 73, the lowest round by an Ursinus College men's golfer this season, as the Bears remained in seventh place after the second day of the Centennial Conference Championship.

After a 322 on Saturday at The Bridges Golf Club, Ursinus' two-day team total of 649 is its lowest two-round tally at the conference tournament since 2005. Franklin & Marshall remained in first place at 592, followed closely by Swarthmore (598) and Muhleberg (600). McDaniel (610) is fourth, with Gettysburg (618) in fifth and Dickinson (641) in sixth.

Hodgdon's 1-over 73 moved him all the way up to 18th on the individual leaderboard. It also came with four birdies, including three in a four-hole stretch of the back nine. Hodgdon birdied the par-5 8th, the par-3 11th, the par-4 13th, and the par-4 14th in the best outing of his short collegiate career.

Junior Ryan Crawford shot an 82 for the second straight day. He sits in 30th place overall.

Freshman Brian Barrett carded an 83 after a first-round 82, posting a birdie on the par-5 5th hole. Sophomore Noah Steiner followed up his 81 on Friday with an 85 that included six pars and a birdie on the par-5 18th.

After a 91 on Friday, senior Anthony Barbine came back with an 84 on Day 2. Barbine registered nine pars and posted 42 on both the front and back nine.

The third and final round of the CC Championship gets underway on Sunday, when the Bears will attempt to catch Dickinson and place better than seventh for the first time since 2008. The last day of the season tees off at 11:30 a.m.
