Men's Basketball tripped up by Washington College, 94-85

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Washington College shot 50 percent for the game, and an even 50 percent in each half, as the Shoremen (4-12 Centennial, 4-19) defeated Ursinus (6-10 Centennial, 9-14) 94-85 on Saturday afternoon in men's basketball action at the Cain Athletic Center.

Sean Flanigan scored a game-high 24 for the Shoremen, with Joey Shelton scoring 18.

For Ursinus, sophomore guard Matt Knowles scored a team-high 22, with freshman forward Remi Janicot and Brian Rafferty each scoring 12. Steve Leonard dropped nine points for Ursinus.

Trailing 45-37 at intermission, Ursinus made a late run but a perfect 17-for-17 from the foul line for Washington kept the Bears at bay.

Rafferty just missed a double-double, as he had nine assists.

Ursinus will host Haverford on Wednesday. The Bears still remain alive for the last playoff spot, but need two wins and two Gettysburg losses to qualify for the playoffs.
